William Gleason Sensei, Chief Instructor of Shobu Aikido of Boston, to Teach in Honolulu Hawaii
Internationally recognized Aikido instructor William Gleason will be teaching his first Hawaii workshop in Honolulu on March 23rd and 24th 2013 at the Aikido Sangenkai.
Honolulu, HI, July 04, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Gleason Sensei studied Aikido in Japan for ten years under Seigo Yamaguchi Shihan, a direct student of Aikido Founder Morihei Ueshiba.
During that same period, he studied swordsmanship (Kashima Shin Ryu) as well as Japanese language, classical music, and Eastern religion. Since 1985 he has continued to practice and teach under the auspices of Mitsugi Saotome Shihan and the Aikido Schools of Ueshiba.
Gleason Sensei is one of the foremost practitioners of Aikido in the world and has authored two books on Aikido and its spiritual principles - "Aikido and Words of Power: The Sacred Sounds of the Kototama" and "The Spiritual Foundations of Aikido", which has been translated into four languages.
He has also produced a DVD entitled "Aikido and Japanese Sword" that demonstrates the sword movements that underlie many Aikido techniques and how this is an essential element to understanding martial practice.
Aikido was refined from ancient internal martial arts in the 1900's by the late Morihei Ueshiba, known today as O-Sensei.

The Aikido Sangenkai is happy to be hosting his first seminar in the Hawaiian Islands. The Aikido Sangenkai is a non-profit Aikido group based in Honolulu, Hawaii, affiliated with the Aikikai Foundation in Tokyo Japan.
The seminar is open to students of all experience levels and affiliations.
