Deals Magazine Summer Issue Drives Sales to Small Businesses
The Summer 2012 print edition of Deals Magazine reaches mailboxes July 2.
Des Plaines, IL, July 05, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Small, local businesses in 26 Chicagoland suburbs are featured in Deals Magazine’s summer 2012 print issue. The deal website’s fifth and largest issue boasts 300-plus deals and more than $20,000 worth of savings nearly double that of its spring issue.
“Not only are we the only deal website to promote our vendors in a print edition – mailed to our subscribers free of charge – but we are also are the only magazine to highlight Chicagoland’s Northwest suburbs like Arlington Heights, Des Plaines, Park Ridge, Schaumburg and 22 others,” said Gemma Piscotti, Deals Magazine director of operations and marketing. “In addition to promoting our vendors, we also protect them.
“The biggest grievance from business owners about deal websites is that they attract freeloader-type consumers, which we define as buyers who will drive great distances for a deal and will not return and pay full price. Since our subscribers are required to define their most frequented shopping areas, we bring local businesses buyers who have the best chance of becoming loyal, long-term buyers. Our print magazine works to accomplish this same goal.”
Of the businesses featured in the magazine, Chicagoans will recognize local favorites like the Schaumburg Boomers, Goodfella’s Beef, Dahn Yoga and more, but also some national brands like Toys “R” Us, Steak ‘n Shake and CITGO.
“These offers are loss-leader type deals that drive sales to the deals offered by small, local businesses and also help our readers enjoy summertime just a little more,” said Piscotti. “We also have a series of editorials entitled ‘Tips from the Pros’ where our vendors provide tips on things like summer grilling (courtesy of Dave’s Specialty Food), summer style (courtesy of KS Style Consulting) and summer photo shoots (courtesy of Photo by Robert Ltd.). A fourth vendor, EcoOptions, Ltd., is highlighted in our reoccurring eco-friendly editorial.”
Like EcoOptions, Ltd., Piscotti says Magazine is an environmentally conscious company.
“We call an Energy Star office building home, and we also replace trees through ReplaceaTree.org for the magazines we print.”
