University of Cincinnati Upgrade Soccer Surface with FieldTurf Revolution
Gettler Stadium re-ups with FieldTurf after successful stint with first installation.
Cincinnati, OH, July 07, 2012 --(PR.com)-- The University of Cincinnati is continuing their longstanding relationship with FieldTurf as the school is currently installing FieldTurf Revolution at Gettler Stadium, the school’s primary soccer and track and field facility. The new field will replace the old FieldTurf surface that was installed in 2003, and will provide the Bearcats with a world class state-of-the-art facility moving forward. School officials are very pleased that the old surface outlasted FieldTurf’s average lifespan by 2 years, totaling 9 – and look forward to continuing the program on the industry’s #1 artificial turf system.
“We are very excited to continue our partnership with FieldTurf, an industry leader in synthetic playing surfaces,” said Whit Babcock, Director of Athletics. “The new innovative playing surface promotes safety for our student-athletes, durability, and sustainability. This installation of the FieldTurf Revolution product makes Gettler Stadium one of the premier venues in the nation.”
FieldTurf Revolution is one of the most innovative products in the artificial turf industry. The FieldTurf Revolution fiber is a result of innovative science, engineering, and technology that will provide customers with a soft yet strong monofilament fiber that’s been designed for high durability and excellent longevity.
“The University of Cincinnati has a tremendous athletic program and we’re thrilled to continue our relationship with the Bearcats into the future,” said FieldTurf President Eric Daliere. “Amidst all the renovations and facility upgrades taking place at Gettler Stadium, we’re confident FieldTurf Revolution is the right surface choice for the soccer and track and field programs and should yield the university results immediately.”
School officials anticipate the installation should be complete by August 1st, in time for the start of the 2012 season. Cincinnati joins an impressive list of NCAA Division-I schools to have installed FieldTurf on their campuses for soccer. That list includes Boston University, Xavier University, Air Force, Seton Hall, Loyola, Columbia, Princeton, Yale, Southeast Missouri State, San Jose State, Wright State University, Creighton, North Carolina, Texas Tech, University of Nevada-Reno, Farleigh Dickinson University, University of San Francisco, and Cleveland State University.
