WPI to Conduct Six Sigma Green Belt Certification in Marlborough

Registrations are taking place now for the fall session.

Marlborough, MA, July 09, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) is taking registrations through July 31 for a Six Sigma Green Belt Certificate program at the Courtyard by Marriott in Marlborough that will run from September through December. This popular business-management strategy program helps employees improve their processes and the quality of their work. It has been adopted by many Fortune 500 companies.

Participants will receive eight days of training and presentations. This training can be used in all types of industries and many positions, including roles in manufacturing, accounting, and operations.

WPI’s Six Sigma Green Belt program provides process-improvement training and hands-on learning through workshops. Employers who invest in this learning benefit by seeing the work they oversee done in a more streamlined and cost-effective way.

Professionals earn the Green Belt title after they have been trained in the Six Sigma methodology and have either worked as part of a team on large-scale projects or have acted as a lead on smaller projects. Those employees who successfully complete Green Belt training can increase their salary by 4.5% to 10%, depending on their industry. Other levels within the Six Sigma ranking include Sponsor, Black Belt, and Champion.

WPI’s upcoming training in Marlborough will go over Six Sigma process improvement tools and concepts; statistical process control; advanced problem solving; and other topics. Participants will develop a Green Belt project that they will be expected to incorporate in their workplace.

The Marlborough Economic Development Corporation has provided outreach assistance to WPI for this training course.
