The Inside/Out Project along with leading raw food expert Karen Knowler is spearheading a global raw food awareness campaign to tie in with this year’s International Raw Food Day on July 11.

The Inside/Out Project,” a 501 (3)(c) empowers low-income women and children to overcome addictions, stress, anxiety and depression by using “Food As Medicine.” As part of our free services, we teach low-income women fun and interactive health & nutrition workshops. One such class teaches vulnerable women about healthy alternatives to sugar, high fructose corn syrup, caffeine and products that contain gluten. All of these ingredients can wreck havoc on an immune system already comprised by chronic stress and other negative factors” says founder, Heidi Asztalos a raw foodie and a native of Mequon, WI. All people have to do to take part in the event is “go raw” for 24 hours - and feel the difference. If you at the end of the day you feel so inspired, you can make a donation to The Inside/Out Project (see below for details).

Raw Food Coach Karen says increasing the raw element in our diets has an immediate positive effect. “You don’t need lots of money, tons of time, fancy gadgets or complex treatments to look and feel fabulous. As soon as you start replacing junk food with fresh raw food and start to nourish your body properly you will start to see a difference within as little as a day.” Here are some of the benefits:

Weight: Lose up to 3lbs in 24 hours simply by eating raw food for a day. Don’t think you’ll go hungry - you won’t!
Energy: Make at least 50% of your diet raw food. You’ll have more energy almost instantly and gain 2-4 hours a day - time to get your sex life or other passions back on track?
Health: Increase how much raw food you eat daily and feel how annoying aches and pains or other health niggles can become a thing of the past.

· Mood: Eat “living” food that maintains all the feel-good hormones normally lost through cooking. Research shows keeping these hormones in your diet does make a difference to how good you feel.
· Ageing: Increase how much raw food you eat and within a week or two you’ll see and feel the difference in your skin, hair and nails. Within a year, you could look 10 years younger.

Karen is living proof that this approach to eating works. Her figure and youthful looks are a far cry from the podgy junk food junkie teenager that she once was. She’s also now written two books on the subject, and is based in Hertfordshire where she runs her successful international coaching and training business.
