Working KnowledgeCSP Awarded $1.4M Contract to Provide Leading Edge Knowledge Management Framework for The Department of Veteran Affairs Acquisition Academy
Leveraging Knowledge to Support the Veteran and Their Families
Washington, DC, July 11, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Working Knowledge CSP, a service disabled veteran owned small business (SDVOSB) headquartered in Great Falls, VA, was awarded a five year contract (base plus four option years) by the Department of Veteran Affairs (VA) for the design, development, and deployment of an Enterprise Knowledge Management (KM) Framework supporting the VA Acquisition Academy (VAAA). The VAAA KM Framework will include processes, tools and technologies to support the VAAA in the capture, retention and reuse of critical knowledge and organizational learning relevant to performance improvement outcomes. The effective leveraging of critical knowledge will drive an evolution in VAAA infrastructure, strategy, training operations, and internal processes, all necessary to deliver on the VAAA mission, and more importantly, the effectiveness of the contribution that the VAAA and their graduates themselves make and will continue to make to the business of federal acquisition.
Bill Kaplan, the Founder of Working Knowledge CSP, a 25 year Air Force veteran, said "It's an honor to receive this contract award and to be able to continue to serve our country. This project will further enable the VA to excel in the mission of training its current and future acquisition professionals thereby improving the VA's ability to provide the highest quality products and services to our veterans and their families."
Knowledge Management, says Bill Kaplan, "is about improving performance at the individual, team, and organization level through an improved ability to leverage what you know about what you do. Organizations that can leverage their knowledge (information + experience) effectively are much better able to adapt to change while continuing to successfully address new challenges presented by change."
The focus of the VAAA and the Working Knowledge CSP KM team's shared efforts (including KnowledgeAdvisors, Project Performance Corporation, and Greenes Consulting) is an improved VAAA ability to capture, retain, and reuse critical knowledge and organizational learning relevant necessary to deliver the highest quality products and services to the Veterans and their families. The effective leveraging of this critical knowledge will drive an evolution in VAAA infrastructure, strategy, training operations, and internal processes, all necessary to deliver on the VAAA mission, and more importantly, the effectiveness of the contribution that the VAAA and the graduates themselves make and will continue to make to the business of federal acquisition.
