Pete Wahl Selected to the "Dallas Business Journal" 40 Under Forty Class of 2012
Jackson Walker partner Pete Wahl was recently honored as one of Dallas Business Journal's elite “40 Under Forty” class of 2012.
Dallas, TX, July 11, 2012 --(PR.com)-- The class of “40 under Forty” is chosen by a panel of former honorees for being at the top of their game professionally and their commitment to the North Texas community. This year’s honorees include executives and entrepreneurs in a wide range of industries, including health care, technology, and numerous professional services.
Mr. Wahl, who focuses his practice on a broad range of environmental matters, is praised by peers and clients alike for the depth of his knowledge in industry, which in turn allows him to offer the most practical advice possible in dealing with commonly complicated and technically challenging legal issues.
In support of Mr. Wahl's nomination, one client noted that “Through his help and assistance, I was able to obtain a Clean Air Act Prevention of Significant Deterioration permit from Ohio regulators in a three-month time span. Those with knowledge and background in this industry understand this is typically a two to three year endeavor” and also that “he was critical in enabling my company to obtain the Performance Track Award from the U.S. EPA, only the second American steel mill who received this honor.”
On the community involvement side, Mr. Wahl has provided considerable pro bono legal services, including representation of federal court defendants by serving on the Criminal Justice Act Voluntary Panel for the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas and representation of a child removed by the State of Texas in 2008 from the Yearning for Zion Ranch in El Dorado, Texas. Mr. Wahl is a member of the North Texas Business for Culture and the Arts’ Leadership Arts Class of 2009, as well as the United Way of Metropolitan Dallas, Alexis de Tocqueville Society. Mr. Wahl serves on the board of directors for the USA Film Festival and Texas League of Conservation Voters.
Mr. Wahl received his B.A. in Biology and Political Science, magna cum laude, from Gustavus Adolphus College (MN), his Masters of Environmental Management from the University of Queensland (Australia) and his J.D., magna cum laude, from the University of Minnesota Law School. While in law school, Mr. Wahl was a law clerk for the U.S. Department of Justice, Environmental Enforcement Section.
