bdSound Unveils bdASRC, Multichannel 146dB DR Asynchronous Sample Rate Converter for FPGA Application

Milano, Italy, July 11, 2012 --(PR.com)-- bdSound has introduced the bdASRC, a configurable multichannel solution for interfacing any quality-demanding digital audio application. It includes an Asynchronous Sample Rate Converter and optional AES/EBU receivers and transmitters.

Performance are top grade: 146dB of Dynamic Range and 142dB of THD+N.

Thanks to the its modular approach the bdASRC can be interfaced with any Audio DSP or base application using standard I2S or TDM protocol. After processing, the digital audio stream can also be converted in AES/EBU format with the same core. Input stream can also be accepted in AES/EBU format. This results in a great flexibility given to the designer, who can use TDM, I2S or AES/EBU stream, both in input and output directions.

bdASRC is an optimized, low-resource demanding FPGA core. It is the perfect solution for any digital audio application based on FPGA, both in the consumer and in the professional audio market. At the same time it is a great replacement for dedicated ICs for AES3 transceivers and Sample Rate Converters, reducing number of components and overall application cost.

A reference application board, based on a Xilinx Spartan6-LX16, has been developed.
