SSY Tanker Data to be Provided Through GlobalView
Partnership between one of the largest ship broking agents and energy’s leading data management provider creates new options for tanker data availability
Chicago, IL, June 21, 2007 --(PR.com)-- Simpson, Spence & Young (SSY) and GlobalView Software Inc., the energy industry’s leading data management provider, announced they have entered into a new partnership that will make SSY’s leading tanker data available through GlobalView’s award-winning MarketView solution.
MarketView aggregates real-time, delayed and historical energy market information and offers the option to integrate internal proprietary data. The web-hosted service allows customers to access information while working in the office, at home or on the road traveling. The accessibility and consistency allows departments throughout a company – from front- to back-office – to utilize the same data in the same format, streamlining their interactive activities.
GlobalView customers will be able to access SSY clean and dirty tanker spot rates for various routes and cargo sizes globally. GlobalView will be only the second data provider to carry SSY tanker data, and after winning numerous industry awards, including Energy Risk’s Data Management House of the Year, it has established itself as the overall leading data management provider in the energy industry. As the world's largest independent shipbroking group, SSY is an organic and dynamic organization that combines over a century of traditional broking expertise with technological sophistication and innovation. It is a leading player in the development of trading in forward freight agreements. Because of this history, its tanker data has become a leading global source of shipping information.
“SSY is delighted to be providing oil tanker freight rate information to GlobalView and to thereby helping to broaden the extensive data coverage that it already offers to its clients. We believe in establishing long-term relationships with companies with which we do business and look forward to being an information supplier to GlobalView in the years ahead,” said Mark Jenkins, Director, SSY Consultancy & Research Ltd.
“SSY data represents an industry standard for tanker rates. Our customers have specifically requested the data and stressed how critical it is to their businesses. GlobalView strives to provide the most comprehensive and valuable collection of data available in the energy industry. We are very pleased to serve our customers’ needs and proud to be one of the first data providers to enter into a partnership with SSY,” said Bruce Weis, Vice President of Data Acquisition and IT Development, GlobalView.
