As a Core Value member of The First Tee Program, since 2010, the support for the children and youth that take part in the programs is invaluable. The First Tee is a youth program that provides character-building educational programs that instill life-enhancing values and promote healthy choices all done through the game of golf.
Greg DeRosa, President of the Custom Golf Materials consistently brings new ideas to fruition. One such idea was the 2011 day of stroke analysis, golf instruction and eighteen holes of golf that he hosted at his home club of Wheatley Hills. He contributes his time and resources to benefit the Metropolitan New York First Tee Program. DeRosa commented on the day, "Giving these exceptional kids from The First Tee a chance to play at private clubs is an easy way to give back to the game, and provides these deserving young people with a great benefit." Hopefully, more opportunities will arise for the youth of the First Tee to play on private courses in the future.
