Operation: Coming Home Names Recipient of Fourth Hero Home

U.S. Marine Lance Corporal Richie Chavez and Family Honored with Surprise Announcement.

Raleigh, NC, July 14, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Operation: Coming Home (http://operationcominghome.com), a joint volunteer project by the Triangle Veterans Association, Home Builders Association of Raleigh-Wake County (HBA), and Royal Oaks Building Group, among others, has announced that U.S. Marine Lance Corporal Richie Chavez will be the recipient of the nonprofit organization’s fourth Hero Home, to be built in Lexington Plantation in Cameron, N.C. Chavez and his family were surprised with the announcement on Tuesday, July 3 at the Home Builders Association of Wake County, where representatives from the United States Marine Corps, the office of North Carolina Governor Beverly Perdue, the USO, Patriot Guard Riders, Royal Oaks Building Group and others were on hand to offer their congratulations.

LCPL Chavez was injured while serving in Afghanistan on November 29, 2010. Since that time, he has been active in the Wounded Warrior Battalion-East, an organization dedicated to helping wounded, injured and ill Marines and their families throughout the recovery and transition process. Chavez and his family will live in a home to be built in the Lexington Plantation development, which will include features designed to give him easy accessibility to all rooms. Construction is scheduled to begin in August, with completion of the home projected for early December.
