Equine Network Launches “Medals for the Rest of Us” Contest

To reward hard-working horse lovers this summer, the Equine Network presents “Medals for the Rest of Us,” a contest sponsored by ZIMECTERIN® Gold, Purina Mills® and USRider®.

Gaithersburg, MD, July 15, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Everyday horse people demonstrate world-class feats of greatness every day–not just every four years. Whether conquering a Mount Olympus of manure or parallel parking a gooseneck trailer, horse people struggle heroically against some of the mightiest forces on the planet: Mother Nature, gravity and the equine imagination. To reward these hard-working horse lovers this summer, the Equine Network presents “Medals for the Rest of Us,” sponsored by ZIMECTERIN® Gold, Purina Mills® and USRider®.

Hopefuls can enter in one of three prestigious events: World-Class Mucking, sponsored by ZIMECTERIN® Gold; Heavyweight Stretching, sponsored by Purina Mills®; or Freestyle Trailer Parking, sponsored by USRider®. By submitting a photo and a caption, horse people can have a chance to earn their own medals and great prizes. Entries will be accepted through August 1.

Just as in ancient Greece, the fate of the “Medals for the Rest of Us” entrants will be determined by democracy. On August 15, voting will open to select the three finalists in each event. After the three finalists in the three events are chosen, a panel of judges will face the tough decision of who will win gold, silver and bronze.

In addition to earning glory and acclaim for their victories, medalists will win exciting prizes in recognition of their heroic struggle for greatness. Prizes include one ton of Purina Mills® feed, a 3-year USRider® membership or a $500 gift certificate from ZIMECTERIN® Gold.
