Raleigh, NC, July 21, 2012 --(PR.com)-- MedPro Rx, Inc. (http://www.medprorx.com), a provider of specialty pharmacy services to clients with chronic illnesses who need clotting factor, IVIg and other medication, has announced that President Nancy McFarlane has been chosen to be included in Triangle Business Journal’s inaugural “Triangle’s Most Influential Business Leaders” list. The list consists of the top 100 local business leaders and contains many familiar names in business, education, philanthropy and government. The 100 names were chosen by the publication’s editors after going through hundreds of individuals who lead various industries that fall under its general coverage guidelines.
As president of MedPro Rx, McFarlane has led the pharmacy to multimillion dollar sales revenues over the past 10 years. She implemented a vision to create a pharmacy that would coordinate pharmaceutical care with existing community resources as well as serve as an advocate for the bleeding disorder community. To date, the pharmacy has awarded nearly $300,000 in scholarship funds to students nationwide who are living with bleeding disorders. MedPro Rx also supports several other organizations dedicated to helping people living with chronic illnesses, including the Hemophilia Foundation of North Carolina, the Virginia Hemophilia Foundation, Patient Services, Inc. (PSI), the Myasthenia Gravis Foundation of America, the Neuropathy Association and other nonprofits throughout the region. Receiving these accreditations shows MedPro Rx’s strong commitment and dedication to the healthcare industry. She has received the Distinguished Pharmacy Alumni Award from Virginia Commonwealth University, her alma mater, for her contributions to the profession of pharmacy and also serves on the UNC Pharmacy Foundation Board.
McFarlane was elected mayor of Raleigh in December 2011 after serving on the Raleigh City Council since 2007. As chair of the Council’s Comprehensive Planning Committee and a member of the Budget and Economic Development Committee, she is active in campaigning for responsible development that protects the quality of life and environment in Raleigh.
