Boston, MA, July 21, 2012 --(PR.com)-- The Center for Women & Enterprise (CWE), a nationally-known nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering women in business, today announced Sheila Lirio Marcelo, Founder and CEO of Care.com will speak on September 21 at The CWE Women Business Leaders Conference 2012, taking place at Bentley University in Waltham, Massachusetts.
Hundreds of business professionals will converge at this event devoted to women in business. This year's conference theme is "Managing from the Inside Out," featuring workshops and presentations bridging internal leadership and external business development challenges. In addition, there will be a special session exclusively for Supplier Diversity professionals from leading corporations. Business leaders and community leaders will also be recognized at the CWE Awards Luncheon for their achievements in promoting and furthering the success of women's business enterprises in New England.
“Despite making great strides in the business world, women business leaders still face special challenges and are still in the minority, which means fewer mentors for women on the way up. Sheila Marcelo is an industry innovator whose experience and insights will undoubtedly inspire our participants and help shape the next generation of women business leaders,” said Susan Rittcher, President and CEO of The Center for Women & Enterprise.
Marcelo founded Care.com in 2006 and today, following its recently announced acquisition of Berlin-based Besser Betreut, the company is the largest online care destination in the world. With a footprint that now spans more than 17 countries and 7 million members, Care.com connects families to high-quality caregivers from childcare to senior care to pet care, and even care for the home. The company also offers its suite of services as an employee benefit to Fortune 500 companies, higher education institutions, technology and service companies, and a variety of industries.
