Annual Pipeline to a Cure Florida Event Rides the Waves Saturday

Altamonte Springs, FL, July 21, 2012 --(PR.com)-- On Saturday July 21, 2012 the Annual Pipeline for the Cure event will be held in New Smyrna Beach, Florida. The event will once again be hosted and organized by Florida residents and parents of two children with CF, Rob and Krista Keller. The event was created to benefit those in the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation in order to find a cure to a disease that affects children’s lives all over the world. For those who do not know what Cystic Fibrosis is, it is a disease that causes mucus build-up in the lungs and makes it quite difficult for those with CF to breathe. Doctors have come to the tentative conclusion that the salt water of the ocean actually helps break up that mucus in the lungs and makes it easy for those with the disease to breathe. Surfing has become a way to get those affected out to the beach and into the salt water. Close to thirty sponsors will be uniting together to promote this cause to the best of their abilities, and each will bring different donations and activities that will make the day one nobody will ever forget. Since the event’s inception last year, the event has been marketed on a larger scale bringing in more participants and more sponsors to boot. Motorsports Marketing and Management Company P1 Groupe will be on hand participating in the day’s events and P1 Groupe driver Jason Rosarius will also be on hand to interact with these great families. What is sure to be a fantastic experience all begins Saturday at 8:00 am from Mary McLeod Bethune Beach Park in New Smyrna Beach, Florida.

“I’m excited to get out and hang out with these exceptionally strong families” Rosarius said. “This is a great cause and one that everyone should come out to support. I love going to the beach, working with kids and surfing so this weekend is going to be fun. I hope to see a large number of supporters out on the surf Saturday!”

Rob and Krista Keller have done a phenomenal job organizing this event and to see those kids and families have such a great time each year means the world to me. Organizer and Father of two children with CF Rob Keller beamed with pride as his event approaches. “Since we got started last year we have seen a boom in both participants and sponsors. Thanks to our dedicated sponsors we will be having boards, trailers and many other products being donated. In the end though, this event is all about these strong kids and their families. Watching these kids and their families smile and having fun all day is truly the rewarding part of organizing these events. Beginning Saturday we will have the beginning stages of fundraising for next season set up as we look to become a fully self-sufficient organization. I’m really excited for Saturday to come rolling around!”

The day will be dedicated to helping those with CF and to raise money to help find a cure to this horrible disease and both of those missions were completed. Events such as these can be life changing, and they can make individuals stop and think about what truly matters in life and how they can make a difference in someone else’s. The Pipeline to a Cure Florida event is an annual occurrence in New Smyrna, and with an event like this the goal is to get bigger and better each and every year.
