Samurai Karate Studio Awards Black Belt Rank to Two Local Students
Sensei Chris Feldt, owner and chief instructor of Samurai Karate Studio, located in Richland Northeast Columbia, South Carolina, recently awarded Black Belt rank to two of his students during a recent ceremony at his school.
Columbia, SC, July 25, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Sensei Chris Feldt, owner and chief instructor for Samurai Karate Studio, located in Richland Northeast Columbia, South Carolina, recently announced the promotion of two of his students.
Chandler Roberts, was promoted to Shodan, or 1st degree black belt and Nathan Feldt, was promoted to Nidan, or 2nd degree black belt.
"Chandler Roberts did an outstanding job with his Black belt test," commented Feldt, "he has been training with me for 4 years and has really grown as a martial artist, but more importantly, he is a fine young man."
Mr. Roberts had to demonstrate his competency in self defense, weapons, forms, basics and sparring. In addition to his physical test, Mr. Roberts had to organize a charity project helping a local neighbor and raised money for the Policemen's Benevolent Society.
Nathan Feldt, a son of Sensei Feldt, has been an instructor at Samurai Karate Studio since it opened over 5 years ago.
"Mr. Feldt has been an important part of my school," Stated Sensei Feldt, "we are extremely close, often train together and he has really helped organized my school to be one of the best in Columbia!"
Samurai Karate Studio teaches both children and adults, beginning at ages 4 and up. In addition to the martial arts, SKS offers a comprehensive leadership program that places emphasis on character development like focus, honor, integrity, and respect.
The school also offers a life skills program including goal setting, perseverance and community service, among the patches that can be earned.
