Haaretz Newspaper Launches English Edition iPad App

App is first Israeli product available on the Apple Newsstand; Haaretz iPad edition provides readers with the best and most interactive digital news experience covering Israel, the Middle East and the Jewish world.

New York, NY, July 26, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Haaretz, Israel’s premier news source, today launched the Haaretz iPad App for English readers worldwide. The Haaretz iPad app is the first Israeli product to be available on the Apple Newsstand, and can be downloaded for free at the Apple store. Designed with one of the top news app developers in the industry, the Haaretz iPad app delivers the most comprehensive and interactive news experience Haaretz has ever offered covering Israel, the Middle East, and the Jewish world. The iPad edition gives readers enhanced news content, brilliant photos, in-depth videos and a daily digital replica of the print edition, as well as the latest breaking news and other interactive features. Users can download the Haaretz iPad app for free, with unlimited access to all content included with a Haaretz digital subscription.

“The Haaretz iPad edition is sleek, interactive, and delivers the best coverage of the news that matters most to Haaretz readers worldwide,” said Lior Kodner, Haaretz Head of Digital. “Following the popularity of our other digital offerings, we are excited to give audiences the ability to read, watch, touch, and experience Haaretz’s award-winning journalism on the iPad. Along with our new, redesigned website and our highly-rated smartphone apps, Haaretz continues giving readers options for interacting with our expanded digital content, on any device.”

As the latest addition to Haaretz’s digital platforms, the Haaretz iPad app features a daily digital edition, interactive multimedia news coverage and slideshows, integrated commenting, talkback and social network links, and access to the Haaretz digital archives. The edition also contains up to 40 exclusive items every day that are only available on the iPad.

“Tigerspike has been excited to work with Haaretz to bring their content to the iPad,” said Luke Janssen, CEO of Tigerspike. “Together, we produced an app we think provides their readers with an amazing and engaging experience when consuming news.”
