Women on the Verge Joins Forces with THAT Magazine for Women to Bring Publication to Print Nationwide
New bimonthly will benefit from bloggers’ talent and followers
Tucson, AZ, July 26, 2012 --(PR.com)-- What happens when an online community and an online magazine realize they both promote the same message in support of women and true sisterhood? They team up to make their voices even louder and clearer.
Just in time for THAT Magazine for Women's (THATmag) first nationally distributed print issue, coming out November, 2012, publisher Rebekah Sweeney asked Women on the Verge (WOTV) founder, Ana Lewis to come onboard and help create a magazine they are nicknaming “Mental Floss for Women.”
The magazine, which currently exists online at www.thatmagazineforwomen.com and features articles that promote healthy bodies, minds and hearts, will be distributed nationwide as a bi-monthly magazine starting this fall. THATmag sees the partnership as an opportunity to tap into the knowledge and expertise of the WOTV community whose blogs, tweets and vlogs have a solid online presence and following.
“Our WOTV online community is a treasure trove of so many talented women –writers, photographers and designers- and they are becoming one of our first choices for story assignments,” says Ana Lewis, in her additional role as the newly named Managing Editor of the magazine. “However, as we are a national magazine, our stories are not all assigned to WOTV members or about WOTV members.
“Our main goal is to showcase a different kind of magazine for women, one that is intellectually stimulating and that helps readers find their purpose and define what really matters to real women,” adds Ana Lewis. “All of our writers are top caliber, published writers. Our first priority is producing a quality product.”
The articles will reach a larger audience now, as they will appear not only in the print issue but also be featured on the THATmag and WOTV websites. Additionally, publisher Rebekah Sweeney will now be handling roles as the Marketing Director for not only the THATmag, but also for WOTV, giving advertisers a power-punch by getting their ads across not only the print version of the magazine, but also the online versions on both the magazine and the community, and their social media networks.
Women on the Verge (WOTV) is a virtual group of women that express their opinions on a variety of topics mainly through their blogs, but also through their tweets and vlogs. The online community on www.womenontheverge.net includes New York Times bestselling authors, entrepreneurs and mothers from all over the world. WOTV members attract 1,000,000 hits per month with their blogs, and boast 10,000+ followers through social media.
