South Plains College Sees Improved Efficiency and Increases Value-Added Time with Students Through Partnership with Global Financial Aid Services and the CORE Solution

Gulfport, MS, July 30, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Global Financial Aid Services is pleased to announce its partnership with South Plains College, a two year community college with 10,000 students in Levelland, Texas. In this partnership, Global provides technology and file review services that streamline the federally required financial aid Verification and C-flag resolution process. By leveraging Global’s resources the South Plains financial aid office is able to focus on students instead of document collection and file review.

There are many features of the CORE solution that appealed to South Plains College. It includes a secure, online portal branded to South Plains creating a seamless student experience. CORE offers a 100% paperless environment by presenting options to upload scanned, electronic documents or to import documents using a fax barcode system. Status of student records are integrated with the South Plains’ POISE student information system, and the administrative software used to manage the operation is simple and intuitive.

And the GlobalCORE student portal enables students to submit required documentation 24/7.”

On the first day using CORE, over 1,600 students were automatically notified through the system that they had been selected for the process and presented with the web-link to access their personalized portal. Within a week of Go-Live over 400 of those students had submitted their file and documents for review which were processed by Global within 10 days.

The GlobalCORE system uploads federally processed student information records (known as ISIRs) received from South Plains. Notifications are automatically sent to each student directing them to the South Plains portal where easy to use smart forms and the options for document submission are presented. Once file review is complete the status is transferred back to the South Plains student information system. The entire process was implemented in a little over one month.
