Ice Cream for a Cause Fundraiser Gives Back

Tucson, AZ, July 31, 2012 --(PR.com)-- A local fundraiser for a 2 year old with a rare illness, brought a great turn out and raised almost $900 to help cover the costs of the toddler’s medical bills.

Aaron Wolsey, who has X-linked hyper-lg M immunodeficiency, does not have an immune system and his medical bills have reached an amount in the millions.

Brieanna Peipelman, known in her community for helping others, heard about Aaron’s illness and decided to arrange a fundraiser at the local Dairy Queen, in Vail. “Hearing Aaron’s story prompted me to find a way to raise money for him, right here on a local level,” said Brieanna Peipelman, Pima County Republican Party Chairman candidate. Brieanna Peipelman went on to say, “I contacted Sean & Tracy Collins, who own the Dairy Queen in Vail, and they had no problem offering a percentage of proceeds from their Dairy Queen for Aaron.”

The fundraiser, held on July 24th, raised $899.17 and the proceeds will go directly to help cover the cost of the child’s rising medical bills. “We are thrilled to present a check as a result of this fundraiser and I am thankful to all of the people who passed out flyers and worked to help us raise money,” said Peipelman. “I hope to continue to find ways that will bring this community together for a common good and appreciate Sean and Tracy Collins for being so helpful in this effort,” she said.

Aaron Wolsey is currently in Patient Health Institute: Cincinnati Children's Medical Center receiving medical treatment. For more information, or to make a donation, please visit http://patients.transplants.org/faf/donorReg/donorPledge.asp?ievent=485635&lis=1&supId=350349987&patientPID=15577
