Brooklyn, NY, July 31, 2012 --(PR.com)-- NYC Food Distribution: Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at 11 AM
2828 Neptune Avenue @ West 28th Street, Brooklyn, NY 11224
Glenn Beck's Mercury One announced as a part of their "Restoring Love" Day of Service in Dallas, that they are organizing a Nationwide Food Drive. The Restoring Love Through Service Food Drive will provide immediate relief to the following 12 cities: Detroit, MI; Navajo Reservation, NM; New Orleans, LA; Las Vegas, NV; San Joaquin Valley County, CA; New York, NY; Orlando, FL; Philadelphia, PA; Dallas, TX; Houston, TX; Wilmington, OH; and Atlanta, GA.
The New York City distribution begins with an Opening Ceremony on Tuesday, July 31st at 11 AM at the Coney Island Gospel Assembly, 2828 Neptune Avenue @ West 28th Street, Brooklyn, NY. Special celebrity and leadership guests, a ribbon cutting and special children's presentation on hunger. Over two dozen NYC groups will be picking up bulk food items to take back to their local pantries to serve the hungry of their communities.
The event is being coordinated locally by New York Christian Resource Center which is the outreach arm of the Loaves & Fishes association of churches. The organization name is taken from the Gospel story about the miraculous feeding of the multitudes after a young boy donates his lunch. "The miracle today," said Loaves & Fishes founder and volunteer executive director Jim Esposito, "is that multitudes are being fed because such a diverse group of contributors and collaborators have seen this food drive as a way to set aside differences and make a positive impact in the community."
