Specialty Packaging Becomes Independent
Expects $16 Million in Revenue During First Year
East Windsor, CT, August 01, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Specialty Printing, LLC announced today that it has spun off its packaging and distribution business, which will now operate independently under the name Specialty Packaging, LLC.
“Although it was started as a division of Specialty Printing, we always intended for Specialty Packaging to become a separate company in short order,” according to Managing Partner Christopher L. Orsini of Middlebury Conn.
Specialty Packaging, LLC continued its rapid growth with the recent merger of D. McLeod Packaging, which was based in East Longmeadow, Mass. It now occupies a 50,000 square foot distribution center at Four Revay Road in East Windsor, Conn. In spite of the challenges of the current economy, Specialty Packaging is beginning its official first year in business with projected revenues of $16 million, Orsini said.
In addition to Orsini, managing partners include Keith Streib of Ellington, Conn., and Donald D. McLeod of Longmeadow, Mass. All three are co-owners of the company, along with William Bailey, president and CEO of Specialty Printing. Company principals have more than 100 years of combined experience in the packaging industry.
Orsini and Streib both began their careers with Rourke Eno, Hartford Conn., which eventually became Unisource. Most of their careers were spent with the Unisource group followed by a short time at Xpedx, Middletown, Conn. McLeod, a 25 year industry veteran, has been an owner and past president of three New England packaging companies; most recently, he ran D. McLeod Packaging. Bailey has over 25 years of experience in the manufacturing and distribution of a wide variety of packaging products, and holds several proprietary patents in the packaging industry. Orsini and Streib worked with Specialty Printing to start Specialty Packaging two years ago.
The company, which has 15 employees, also has distribution centers in California, Florida, Georgia and Ohio servicing both private and Fortune 500 companies.
Specialty Packaging has extensive capabilities in package design, sourcing, distribution and logistics. It provides customers with packaging and shipping products. Primary markets served include food packaging, general manufacturing and distribution centers. Specialty Packaging also has an in-house packaging equipment department and offers customers new and used equipment, along with parts and service.
“As a result of our merger with D. McLeod, we now have a broad and deep range of products to meet the packaging needs of any business,” Orsini said. “Our financial strength, fleet of delivery vehicles, experienced staff and leadership team position us for continued growth for years to come.”
