Jeff Slivka Promoted to Chief Operating Officer at New Day Underwriting Managers

Bordentown, NJ, August 01, 2012 --(PR.com)-- In addition to performing the duties of executive vice president at New Day Underwriting Managers LLC, Jeff Slivka has also assumed the position of Chief Operation Officer (COO) at the specialty resource firm dedicated to assisting insurance agents and brokers with the selection of the appropriate environmental and construction-related professional liability coverages. An expert in construction-related professional liability insurance, environmental insurance and associated risk management services, Slivka handles the day-to-day management of New Day's underwriting/broking operations. This includes guiding the company’s overall strategic direction and supervising its carrier and client relationships, coverage negotiations and program design/development.

Throughout his career, Slivka has dedicated his efforts to helping construction insurance industry leaders better understand the intricacies of these highly-specialized insurance products as a presenter at events such as IRMI, CFMA, AGC, MCA and others. He has also assisted over 50 percent of the Engineering News Record (ENR) Top 400 Construction firms to manage their environmental and/or professional liability risk.

Prior to joining New Day Underwriting Managers, he spent over two decades as an environmental and professional liability underwriter, insurance broker and environmental consultant with several leading insurance providers. This includes serving as a senior consultant/construction specialist in Aon’s Environmental Group, as well as underwriting all forms of environmental insurance and construction related professional liability insurance products at ECS/XL Environmental, while holding the position of Manager/Vice President of the Engineering and Construction Unit for 11 years.

A resident of Fort Washington, PA., Slivka received his Bachelor of Science degree in Geology from Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania and completed the professional designations of Associate in Risk Management (ARM) and Construction Risk and Insurance Specialist (CRIS). In addition, he is a member of the Associated General Contractors (AGC) of America National Risk Management and Environmental Committees, the Construction Financial Management Association (CFMA) and is a regular speaker and author for the International Risk Management Institute (IRMI).
