Datex to Exhibit at American Cheese Society Annual Conference
Clearwater, FL, August 02, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Supply chain software developer Datex Corporation will be exhibiting at the 2012 American Cheese Society Conference August 1-4th in Raleigh, North Carolina. Datex will be showcasing their new warehouse management software solution which integrates cheese manufacturing and inventory management. Developed with input from a major U.S. cheese manufacturer, the new inventory software solution includes features specifically used in cheese production such as tracking of vendor Lot with vat code; quarantine, taste testing and inspection schedules and Lot track and trace by ingredient.
With the passage of the FDA Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA), companies are seeking automated ways to improve traceability and prevention of foodborne illness. Using a combination of barcodes or RFID with Datex FootPrint® WMS can improve traceability; facilitate product recalls and food safety. Automated solutions such as Datex FootPrint® WMS reduce labor cost; improve response time, increase information accuracy and visibility. Datex FootPrint® WMS includes track and trace by Lot, SKU, UPC and ingredient.
Datex FootPrint® WMS Includes Special Features for Food Safety:
Datex FootPrint® WMS now includes a new feature, ideal for food safety. The system monitors the location of ingredients used in food production and uses a set of temperature rules to help ensure that ingredients are in the proper temperature zone or location. This feature helps production facilities minimize waste and promotes proper food safety procedures.
Datex FootPrint® WMS Includes Cheese Aging Process Tracking:
One of the latest warehouse management system (WMS) features is the ability to create multiple simultaneous holds for quarantine, visual inspection, tasting and other processes. Datex FootPrint® WMS for the cheese industry also provides tracking of the aging process as well as accelerated product tracking, temperature capture, temperature categories by location and SKU, zone/location temperature rule change and material SKU transformation and additional new functionality.
“Cheese manufacturers love the new features we developed for their use. We have gotten great feedback from the industry so far,” said Andy Armanious, Vice President of Development for Datex. “We recently introduced Datex FootPrint WMS at the International Cheese Technology Expo (ICTE) in Milwaukee and were very excited by the results.”
Datex has held webinars specifically for the cheese industry including information on issues related to traceability, RFID, and manufacturing trends. Webinars have been archived and can be viewed with registration.
