Unholy Alliance, Unusual Love: Death in Diyarbakir Published by Outskirts Press

Bernard M. Brodsky’s political thriller puts loyalties and lives at risk as the romantic attraction between an activist Kurdish lawyer and a Turkish general takes them far beyond ethnic animosity.

Canton, OH, August 03, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Novelist and attorney Bernard M. Brodsky announced today the release of Death in Diyarbakir, published by Outskirts Press. Brodsky combines political intrigue, mystery and romance set in the harsh landscape of southeastern Turkey as two once sworn enemies find their attraction to one another other unites them against a murderous conspiracy determined to destroy them both.

When Turkish Special Forces are suspected in the disappearance of a doctor and his family from Diyarbakir, Turkish-Kurdish tensions in the region escalate. Emine Sesen, a former political prisoner and now an activist lawyer, and the daughter of an influential Kurdish chieftain, begins an investigation into the missing family.

Surprisingly, Emine finds herself partnered in the investigation with Turkish Special Forces General Arslan Buyukdag, the scion of a distinguished military family. The army has chosen him to help conduct the inquiry, but his commander’s only interest is for him to exonerate the Turkish army. Emine, however, is convinced the military is responsible.

As Emine struggles with her loathing of the Turks and Arslan tries to push his bitterness for the Kurds aside, they begin to realize there are greater interests at stake than the disappearance of one Kurdish doctor and his family. They also must acknowledge their growing attraction to one another. Now united in their pursuit of the truth, they discover a conspiracy that will do anything to stop their investigation.

As their relationship deepens, the danger to them mounts. Only an alliance between Arslan’s trustworthy Major Mehmet and his hulking Sergeant Ruh with Emine’s fierce Kurdish clansmen can succeed in protecting them while they battle the ruthless agents of the evil conspiracy.

Brodsky’s fast paced narrative and authentic portrayal of age-old Turkish-Kurdish tensions provide his readers riveting mystery, satisfying political intrigue and welcome romance.
