Hospitality Businesses to Benefit from New Directory App

Businesses in the hospitality sector can now reach customers on the go with seeker directory app for iPhone and Android.

London, United Kingdom, August 04, 2012 --(PR.com)-- seeker (http://www.seeker.co.uk) a business and residential directory service touches down in the UK, offering hospitality businesses the opportunity to increase enquiries and footfall.

seeker is specifically built for smartphones and available on both iPhone and Android devices. Users can also search the seeker database on the web via their desktop. seeker is also one of the only directory services that cater to both business and residential listings.

Dr. Klaus Mapara, CEO at seeker comments, “seeker offers businesses the opportunity to become a ‘brand in the hand’ of its customers, with the free basic listing including a business’ address, telephone number/s and opening hours. Research* shows that 95 per cent of smartphone users look for local information while on the go, 77 per cent of those users contacted the business either visiting the store or calling it and almost half of those went on to make a purchase.”

Businesses in the UK will be contacted in the coming months to verify their details. Mapara explains, “All of the details we hold are checked for accuracy and opt-in consent by our UK call centre and/or via email directly with the business.” The seeker directory is built from databases licensed by different content providers including BT Residential and DA Services, adhering to strict data and information policies.

seeker is straightforward to use and will allow businesses to update and change their details at any point themselves, with changes reflected across the app and web within approximately two working days. The basic account listing for businesses is free, with an upgraded profile (seeker plus) that can include images, menus, room availability, services, pricing etc., available for those businesses interested in increasing visibility and conversion.

Mapara adds, “People are increasingly turning to their mobile phone whilst on the go to seek local information. For businesses in the hospitality sector (probably more so than any other sector), it’s absolutely crucial to be able to be found easily on mobile devices in order to be considered against local competitors for their potential business, particularly during this challenging economic time. Our free app will make it easier than ever before for bar owners, cafes, coffee shops, hoteliers, restaurateurs, takeaway establishments, and a vast array of other hospitality businesses to be found by potential customers.”

seeker is free for users to download from the Apple App Store for the iPhone (http://bit.ly/seekeriOS) and Google Play for Android (http://bit.ly/seekerandroid) and to use on the web. seeker is an established player in the directory space in Austria, Belgium, Luxembourg, The Netherlands, Switzerland and the USA.
