Stadia Sports Grill Teams Up with YOUTH AID and Novusport to Host Olympics Viewing Parties on August 10 and 11, 2012
Houston, TX, August 04, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Stadia Sports Grill, a local contemporary sports restaurant and lounge, YOUTH AID, an anti-bullying educational organization, and Novusport, a social media sports game, have partnered to host Olympics viewing parties at all five Houston area Stadia locations (Sugar Land, Pearland, Katy, Cinco Ranch and The Woodlands) on August 10 from 11:30a.m. to 8:30p.m. and August 11 from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The parties provide a venue for patrons to enjoy the Olympics while cheering on our local athletes.
The competition coverage of Olympics Taekwondo champions and Sugar Land natives, Steve and Diana Lopez, is anticipated to air during the parties. Tormented by bullying from an early age, their motivational life story from hardships to healing through the disciplined techniques of martial arts will eventually reach millions around the world through their Olympics participation as well as YOUTH AID’s programs.
Invited guests include all the students (and their families) of the Lopez Taekwondo Academy, friends of the Lopezes, and other local VIPs. All three companies invite supporters to attend.
“Stadia Sports Grill wanted to be involved in the great heroism shown by our local Olympics athletes and support a great community event,” says Randall Sjolander, general manager of Stadia’s newest location in Sugar Land. “Collaborating with YOUTH AID and Novusport is a natural fit for Stadia’s community mindedness.”
Every seven minutes a child is bullied in Texas. YOUTH AID provides anti-bullying preventative educational programs throughout Texas. The Lopez family lends their support by speaking out against bullying and endorsing YOUTH AID’s mission: to focus on preventing bullying, cyberbullying, and other forms of abuse through educational efforts and resources.
“Hosting this event is an opportunity to show our appreciation for all our local Olympians,” says Jason Jimenez, YOUTH AID board vice president. “Specifically, the Lopez family has provided overwhelming support for YOUTH AID and our mission. Additionally, forming a relationship with growing local businesses such as Stadia and Novusport will help YOUTH AID communicate its message while creating awareness for these brands and their altruistic commitments to the community.”
The first 100 customers at each Stadia location will receive an American flag to wave. During the parties, a “Best Olympic Costume” Contest will take place and signed Lopez memorabilia will be raffled off. Novusport will be demonstrating their application for iPhones/ iPads. Customers can participate in athletic events and see how they compare to others via the application’s “Sports Graph” technology. Novusport will award gold, silver and bronze medals at each Stadia location on both days and will award a cash prize to the overall Stadia “Challenge” winner from all five locations. YOUTH AID t-shirts will also be sold.
