Siemens to Unveil Its End-to-End Smart Grid Portfolio at Transmission & Distribution/Smart Grids Europe in October
Amsterdam, Netherlands, August 08, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Siemens Smart Grid has announced its lead sponsorship for the annual Transmission & Distribution/Smart Grids Europe, co-joined with Metering, Billing/CRM Europe and Smart Homes which is taking place from 9-11 October in Amsterdam.
In what Siemens’ CEO Dr Jan Michael Mrosik describes as the “ultimate smart utility experience,” the event will gather some 6500 utility professionals at what has become the largest industry conference and exhibition on the continent. Dr Mrosik says: “This is the ideal occasion for Siemens Smart Grid to present its vision and solutions for the energy landscape of the future. After a long phase of discussing and planning intelligent energy infrastructures, the time has now come to construct Smart Grids and to create successful business cases for utilities.”
He continues: “Global energy infrastructures are at the crux of vastly complex issues, brought about by rapidly growing demand for electricity, concerns over climate change and diminishing fossil sources.”
New guiding principles
According to Siemens Smart Grid’s CEO, utilities, energy producers and network operators need new guiding principles to define their future business cases, manage their assets and engage their customers. He explains: "They will have to go beyond traditional energy approaches and technologies to reinvent, innovate and collaborate. They need strategic partners to jointly define the emerging energy markets, successfully play in the markets’ many possibilities, while remaining economically robust with a reliable energy supply."
Smart Grid Suite
The Siemens Smart Grid Suite, a comprehensive end-to-end portfolio of integrated Smart Grid products, services and solutions, will be brought to life in the Siemens exhibition area at Metering Europe. Dr Mrosik: 'Our ambition is to be the undisputed innovator in Smart Grid. Engaging in a close dialogue with our customers, partners and industry experts is key to substantiating this ambition."
