Small Businessman Speaks with an Independent Voice as Candidate for HD-70
West Yellowstone, Montana small businessman Christopher Burke is running a very personal and social media-based election campaign for a Montana House Seat
West Yellowstone, MT, August 07, 2012 --(PR.com)-- West Yellowstone — Montana House District 70 candidate Christopher Burke is not your usual candidate running the typical campaign.
Running as an independent, Burke believes that the communities of House District 70 are in need of independent nonpartisan representatives that understand, regardless of party affiliation, the need to provide for and grow our communities and businesses. "My motivation is to bring representation and communication at the State level to the sometimes isolated communities of HD-70 which spans from West Yellowstone to Belgrade and southwest Bozeman," states Burke.
As a 10-year year round resident of West Yellowstone, Burke and his wife successfully created Morning Glory Coffee & Tea, Inc., a retail/wholesale/E-commerce business from the ground up in 2005. Additionally, he served on the boards of the West Yellowstone Chamber of Commerce, the Yellowstone Historic Center and West Yellowstone Planning and Zoning.
Inspired by the challenges he encountered, Burke made the decision to enter the race. "If elected my number one priority will be to improve the communities I represent," he explains. "I will make every effort to protect taxpayer's money by making sure tax dollars are spent wisely on economic development, education, affordable housing, fire and police protection. I feel it is important to have strong representatives that are willing to work with both parties to pass legislation that has positive results for Montanans and their communities."
You won't find a plethora of Burke signs or television commercials. Burke believes that direct communication is the missing link in connecting constituents with their representatives. He accomplishes that through social media, meeting one-on-one with residents and businesses, answering emails and phone calls.
