About the author:

This story is set back in the early 1900’s and falls parallel to the author’s own life as a child. Of course, she was not born back then, but living without running water and toilet facilities and remembering many, many birthday cakes made from flour, sugar and water brings back memories for her. Her book is fiction, but there are true events in the mix. Marsha has a wonderful husband of thirty-five years, three biological children, two adopted sons and six awesome grandchildren. She has also fostered over six hundred needy children with pleasure. She has lived in many states in this country, but always fell back to her hometown in Mingo county, West Virginia.
