Long Island Charity Maurer Foundation Announces Breast Cancer Golf Event
Hauppauge, NY, August 15, 2012 --(PR.com)-- On October 9, 2012 The Maurer Foundation will host its 17th Annual Golf Classic at the Meadow Brook Club in Jericho, Long Island, NY. Proceeds will go to benefit the Maurer Foundation’s breast health education programs presented to Long Island and New York City schools, businesses, and community groups.
The event begins with registration and brunch from 10:30 am to 12 pm followed immediately by a shotgun start. The full day of golf will be followed by a cocktail reception 5-7:30 pm, which will include golf awards, a silent auction, and a 50/50 raffle.
Ed Westfall, former New York Islander and NHL hockey legend will serve as Master of Ceremonies. Golfers will also have the chance to tee off with Westfall in the Golf Classic’s Beat the Pro contest.
The Meadow Brook Club is a private 18-hole golf course located on Cedar Swamp Road, Jericho, NY. The course, originally built as a 9-hole course in 1894, has hosted many major regional tournaments including Metropolitan PGA Championships, The Metropolitan Open, an LPGA event and the Lightpath Long Island Classic, a Senior PGA Tour event.
Tickets are available for individual players ($650) and for the cocktail reception only ($150). Foursomes can be reserved by signing up for a sponsorship.
Sponsorships range in values from $500 to $10,000 and include golf and cocktail packages. Treiber - The Treiber Family Foundation.
