Irvine, CA, August 14, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Toshiba’s Digital Products Division (DPD), a division of Toshiba America Information Systems, Inc., today announced the Canvio® Desk Desktop External Hard Drive and the Solid State Drive (SSD) PC Upgrade Kit, both available now on Toshiba Direct starting at $119.99 MSRP1 and $109.99 MSRP, respectively.
“With personal storage becoming increasingly prevalent, the need for varying solutions grows and we’re proud to introduce new devices that help round out our already robust line-up,” said Maciek Brzeski, vice president of product marketing and development, Branded Storage Products, Toshiba America Information Systems, Inc., Digital Products Division. “Our new desktop drive and SSD Upgrade Kit are providing our users with the high level of power and performance they’ve come to expect from Toshiba storage solutions.”
Toshiba Canvio Desk Desktop External Hard Drive
Available in 1TB, 2TB and 3TB configurations, Toshiba’s Canvio Desk Desktop External Hard Drive provides ample storage space for even the largest digital libraries. The drive is ready to use straight out of the box, offering users a seamless, plug-and-play experience. The Canvio Desk offers high capacity3 storage in a small and compact design, supporting both horizontal and vertical orientation, allowing users to save precious desk space. Its USB 3.0 interface significantly improves file transfer performance for large media files and dramatically minimizes the wait time for backup. In addition, its fan-less design makes the drive’s operations whisper-quiet while effectively keeping it cool. Additionally, the Canvio Desk is pre-loaded with NTI® Backup Now EZ™ software to make backup quick and simple. The drive offers password protected backups, the ability to schedule automatic backups, as well as file, folder and full system backup and recovery.
Toshiba Solid State Drive PC Upgrade Kit
Ideal for avid gamers, graphic professionals and road warriors, Toshiba’s Solid State Drive PC Upgrade Kit is the perfect solution for boosting PC performance productivity. Available with capacity[1] up to 240GB, the SSD Upgrade Kit comes with all of the tools needed to update the drives in any notebook and personal computer, along with an included data migration cable and cloning software to easily assist with data transfer from existing drives to the new SSD. This Upgrade Kit drastically improves PC performance, allowing for faster boot-up and operation speeds. Additionally, compared to standard hard drives, SSDs do not have moving parts, offering improved durability and resistance to vibration and shock, so users can have greater peace of mind that their drive is less prone to damage or crashes. SSDs also consume less power than a standard hard drive, so users can spend less time looking for a power outlet and more time working and playing.
