Missouri Community College to Launch Groundbreaking New Website
Believed to be the first of its kind among higher education institutions, Ozarks Technical Community College will launch its new homepage on Monday, August 20.
Springfield, MO, August 16, 2012 --(PR.com)-- An innovative new way to find information about Ozarks Technical Community College is coming Monday, August 20. Beginning that morning, visitors to www.otc.edu will find a new homepage featuring a logo, a search bar — and not much else.
Believed to be the first webpage of its kind among higher education institutions, the simple new start page was developed after statistics showed that the search function was the most-used piece of OTC’s current website. More than 80 percent of the College’s website visitors find what they are looking for through an outside search tool or OTC’s Google search server. In most cases, the content on the front page is skipped over, with visitors going directly to the search box to quickly find the information they need.
“We wanted to cut through the obstacles, and give our students, employees and community a simpler way to find what they need,” explained Dr. Hal Higdon, chancellor of Ozarks Technical Community College. “The new site still has all of the information and resources, but without all the clutter.”
The launch of the new page will coincide with the first day of fall classes at OTC. For those who prefer to navigate in a more traditional way, the page will also include a link to the full website.
