Chicago, IL, August 17, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Bob Mayer, one of the four featured authors who will be at the 2013 Love is Murder conference in Chicago next Feb. 1-3, is the NY Times best-selling author of The Gate, the Green Beret series and many others more than 50 published books that have sold more than 4,000,000 copies.

His latest release, The Jefferson Allegiance, is the first in his new Presidential Thrillers series, in which each novel is based on a historical puzzle left behind by a U.S. President. The Jefferson Allegiance was released independently and reached number 2 overall in sales on Nook.

Mayer grew up in the Bronx, then attended West Point. During his four years there, he learned the history of our military and our nation, then enlisted in the Special Forces. Combining this unique education and experience, he is a master at blending elements of truth into all of his thrillers, leaving the reader questioning what is real and what isn't; they are based in fact and riddled with possibilities. In his historical fiction novels, Mayer blends actual events with fictional characters. He doesn't change history, but instead changes how history came into being.
