Certification in Wellness Sets the Standard for Insurance and HR Professionals
Palm Beach Gardens, FL, August 18, 2012 --(PR.com)-- The Corporate Health & Wellness Association (CHWA), an employer based non-profit trade association, has launched the most comprehensive corporate wellness certification program for insurance and HR professionals whose main focuses are offering wellness solutions in the workplace in order to get employees and dependents healthier and more engaged in their health.
Certified Corporate Wellness Specialist® was developed over the past several years by employers through their experiences and best practices. The CHWA certification program is available at the CHWA annual conference or online.
“This corporate wellness certification is not only the most comprehensive wellness course out there, but what makes it special is that it’s taught by the employers who are actually doing wellness successfully, showing people what really works. Anyone can sit through a certification course; this sets the standard through testing and required continuing education every year. Requiring individuals to stay on top up best practices, new case studies, and trends through continuing education is the only way to ensure individuals really have the knowledge to administer and manage wellness programs,” said Jonathan Edelheit, Editor-in-Chief of the Corporate Wellness Magazine.
Becoming a Certified Corporate Wellness Specialist® provides Human Resource and Insurance professionals with a competitive edge in the industry by demonstrating to employers and colleagues that they:
· Possess the training and knowledge to successfully implement and manage a wellness program
· Understand best practices in wellness
· Comprehend the different types of wellness programs and learn how to tailor one to meet the needs of their specific corporate culture
· Demonstrate they are up to date with current best practices on an ongoing basis through continuing education courses required for recertification
· Possess the qualifications and abilities for job promotion and career enhancement
The Certified Corporate Wellness Specialist® program consists of eight hours of training courses and a comprehensive 100+ question exam based on information contained in our industry textbook, “Engaging Wellness: Corporate Wellness Programs that Work.” The training courses can either be completed online or live in person at the 4th Annual Corporate Wellness Conference, which will be held Oct. 24-26th on the beach in Fort Lauderdale/Miami, FL. Five hours of continuing education credits are required to retain active certification status each year following initial certification.
Professionals who receive the wellness certification will have the most up-to-date wellness policies and best practices at their fingertips. Utilizing the services of those professionals who undergo the certification will help organizations to maintain a competitive edge through lower healthcare costs and a better bottom line, including:
· A healthier, happier workforce
· Reduced absenteeism/presenteeism
· Lower healthcare/insurance costs
