Uniastrum Announces Competition for Best Card Design

The lender is asking young amateur and professional designers to create a new-look bank card. The winner of the competition will be invited to conclude a contract worth Rb 100,000.

Moscow, Russia, August 19, 2012 --(PR.com)-- The winning design will feature on Uniastrum Bank cards. Registration for the competition kicks off on August 16 and entries will be accepted between August 20 and September 30. From October 1 to 15 a panel of experts will choose the three best designs, awarding the overall winner Rb 100,000 for use of his or her design-concept. The two runners-up will each receive an Apple iPad.

The competition is open to students enrolled at any one of Russia’s higher education establishments, young specialists, and to anyone for whom graphic design is a profession or simply a favorite pastime. Entrants must be Russian citizens resident in the Russian Federation and at least 16 years of age.

In order to take part in the competition, visit the Uniastrum Bank website page at http://students.uniastrum.ru/ and complete an entry form. After registering, entrants are asked to create a personal profile page, which they can use to upload their designs anywhere between August 20 and September 30. No limit is placed on the number of designs submitted by a single entrant. Particular attention will be paid to originality, suitability for use on bank cards, concept cohesion, and the extent to which the design accords with the Bank’s image and brand identity. Entries will be judged by a panel of experts including top managers from Uniastrum and the Bank of Cyprus Group, and marketing and design specialists.

“We are asking graphic design professionals and amateurs to come up with a new design concept for our bank cards,” says Margarita Gerasimova, Uniastrum’s Vice President of Marketing. “We are looking to break away from traditional design solutions, which is why we have opted in favor of crowd sourcing in the belief that this will result in a greater number of fresh and original ideas and enable entrants to show just what they’re capable of when faced with a real task in a professional environment.”
