The Afria-Asia-Europe Trade & Investment will host 6000 delegates and 300 exhibitors and numerous investors from 61 countries in Africa, Asia and Europe for the 3 day summit.
Centurion, South Africa, August 22, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Experts believe that international investors will use the Africa-Asia-Europe Trade & Investment Summit to be held in Cape Town, South Africa as an opportunity to try to enter the Zimbabwean Diamond industry. The summit will be held from the 29th to the 31st of October 2012 in Cape Town, South Africa under the theme, “Breaking new ground.”
The organizers of the summit, Egoli Communications have confirmed that various clusters of investors from Europe, Asia and the United States of America will be visiting the summit in order to seek investment opportunities and with Zimbabwe as their focal point.
According to Egoli Communications Managing Director, Mr. Garikai Nhongo, “We have confirmed at least 7 clusters of investors from all over the globe who will attend the summit seeking investment in various enterprises. Some of these are angel investors and others are institutional investors. They are coming with a potential of over US$5 billion in investment and if we are able to marry that money with actual investment, the summit will be a resounding success.”
Zimbabwe is now the 5th largest producer of diamonds in the world and is set to export record amounts of diamonds after the discovery of new fields in Chimanimani in Zimbabwe’s Eastern Highlands. Mining activities in Zimbabwe produced about 8.7 million carats of rough diamonds in the 2011 calendar year. Of the total number of carats mined, 7.15 million of those carats were exported to countries that included the United Arab Emirates, South Africa, Israel and Belgium.
