J. Walcher Communications Names Ashley Shafer Account Coordinator

San Diego, CA, August 22, 2012 --(PR.com)-- J. Walcher Communications (JWC), a San Diego-based public relations agency, has announced the addition of Ashley Shafer as account coordinator. Shafer will assist with the management and coordination of public and community relations and social media strategies for a variety of local, regional and national accounts.

Shafer has a background in writing and journalism, as well as strong public relations experience garnered from five internships, where she worked with clients in the entertainment, arts, lifestyle and hospitality industries.

Shafer was most recently public relations intern at San Diego-based agency I.D.E.A. (formerly Bailey Gardiner).

Prior to I.D.E.A., Shafer interned at Biola University’s marketing department in La Mirada, Ca, Arts PR and Laguna Playhouse theatre in Orange County. She also completed a three-month internship at PMK BNC in Los Angeles.

Shafer holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism, with an emphasis in public relations, from Biola University. During her time at Biola, Shafer was a member of the Public Relations Student Society of America and now is a member of the national Public Relations Society of America.
