Action Party of Morton Grove Seeks Residents Interested in Running for Office
Morton Grove, IL, August 23, 2012 --(PR.com)-- The Action Party of Morton Grove is continuing its long-held tradition of holding open screening sessions to seek candidates for the upcoming municipal elections in April of 2013. Screening sessions will be scheduled in mid-September to accommodate those applicants seeking to run for the offices of Village President, Village Clerk and three seats for Village Trustee.
The Action Party prides itself on its open and inclusive process to seek out residents who are not only interested in running for office on the Village Board, but who also may be interested in volunteering their time in other capacities to help keep Morton Grove the great place it is to live, work and raise a family.
Everyone interested should send a letter to the Chair of the Search Committee with a resume or background information and a cover letter with all contact information. This should be sent to: Mr. James Verhunce, 8821 Mansfield, Morton Grove, IL 60053. Resumes can also be sent via email to: contact@actionparty.org.
Like any organization, the Action Party is continuously evolving to reflect the best of our diverse community. “I encourage all interested citizens to become involved in their local government to give something back to the community,” stated Action Party President Mark Matz. He continued, “It’s encouraging to see new residents as well as people who have lived here for many years getting involved in a positive way.” An example of this is Village Clerk Tony Kalogerakos, who, with no previous connection to the Action Party, was screened, selected, and successfully ran for office.
The Action Party was formed with one goal in mind: “To support and maintain effective, honest, open, scandal-free and non-partisan municipal government in the Village of Morton Grove.” Visit us on Facebook at “Action Party of Morton Grove”.
