Show Your Support for Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines in the Second "Cruise International Awards"
Suffolk, United Kingdom, August 24, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Having swept the board in last year’s first-ever "Cruise International Awards," Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines is calling upon its loyal guests and fans to show their support once again, with the chance to win a number of attractive prizes, including a luxurious week-long holiday in Fort Lauderdale, Florida – so there’s no excuse not to vote. The deadline to register votes is 23rd August 2012 at www.cruise-international.com/awards
Fred. Olsen won the hotly-contested accolade of "Cruise Line of the Year" in the 2011 awards, which attracted some 180,000 votes from readers of Cruise International magazine and keen cruise customers, across 20 categories. The cruise line was also voted "Best Educational Cruise" for its Vistas onboard enrichment programme – which has featured the likes of The Archers and an Agatha Christie-themed cruise – and "Best Live Performance" for classical duo, The OperaBabes, who electrified audiences on board Black Watch’s Mediterranean cruise in October 2010 and on Braemar’s "Spain and Portugal" M1123 in October 2011.
Nathan Philpot, Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines’ Sales and Marketing Director, said:
“We were delighted to have been voted ‘Cruise Line of the Year’ in the inaugural ‘Cruise International Awards’, and we are hoping that the Fred. Olsen fans out there will get behind us once again and show their support.
“The feedback from our guests is that they continue to enjoy our wide range of exciting destinations – to no fewer than 240 destinations in 78 countries in the 2013 / 14 cruise programme, featuring 12 new ports – and we remain dedicated to being the ‘local global cruise line of choice’, with more departures from convenient, regional UK ports than any other cruise line. Thank you for voting for us!”
This year’s "Cruise International Awards" will once again be taking place at the prestigious Soho Hotel in Central London, on 12th September 2012. The Judges, with many years of experience at sea between them, are: Liz Jarvis – Editor of Cruise International Magazine; Jonathan Beaumont – Presenter, Cruise Today, Travel Channel’s Cruise Correspondent; Simone Clark – Managing Director of IgluCruise.com; John Honeywell – The Mirror’s cruise blogger, ‘Captain Greybeard’; Penny Guy – PR Director of Passenger Shipping Association; Sue Bryant – Cruise Travel Journalist; Scott Anderson – General Manager, The Luxury Cruise Company; and Emma Sanger – Co-operative Personal Travel Advisor.
In 2011, Fred. Olsen was also highly commended in a fourth category, "Best Value Cruise Line." It has an even stronger case to win this award in 2012, with its recently-launched "Fred. Olsen Price Pledge" and "all-inclusive" drinks package.
Fred. Olsen is providing guests with extra reassurance through its recently-launched early-booking ‘Price Pledge’*. This applies to bookings made before 30th September 2012, for most cabin grades, and is applicable to the majority of sailings departing on, or after, 6th April 2013, which are featured in the current ‘2013 / 14 Worldwide Cruises’ brochure. It means that, if the price of the cruise is reduced for the cabin grade booked, Fred. Olsen will refund the difference through one – or a combination – of measures: a cabin upgrade; onboard spending credit; or a cash refund, at the cruise line’s discretion. Fred. Olsen will contact all relevant guests before the applicable cruise departure date to advise them of how they have benefited, so that guests can relax and have no need to monitor prices.
Fred. Olsen has added another great incentive to help guests make the most of their holiday spending money by booking early; the first 100 bookings per sailing, made before the end of September 2012, will additionally qualify for a free upgrade to an ‘all-inclusive’ drinks package, including beers, wine, spirits and soft drinks.*
