DASHA Supports A Free Bird’s Collaboration with Chef Cardoz at North End Grill: Ice Cream to Support Artistic Pediatric Cancer Patients

New York, NY, August 24, 2012 --(PR.com)-- A Free Bird and award-winning Chef Floyd Cardoz are teaming up to create a unique ice cream flavor to benefit a young cancer survivor and aspiring pastry chef Nicole Morreale. The exclusive ice cream flavor will be featured at Chef Cardoz’s Battery Park restaurant, North End Grill, from Monday August 27th through Sunday September 3rd. All proceeds will go to A Free Bird to benefit its Free program, which aims to support youth who have undergone treatment for cancer pursue their creative passions.

Nicole Morreale, 16-year-old cancer survivor and culinary enthusiast, will work with Chef Cardoz to mix the signature ice cream flavor. Nicole, who has been in remission for nine years, now wants to pursue her passion of becoming a professional pastry chef. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Pediatric Cancer Foundation in partnership with A Free Bird and St. Joseph’s Hospital, the channel through which A Free Bird finds cancer patients to support.

A Free Bird is a non-profit organization based in New York City and New Jersey that provides arts education and mentorship programs for artistic youth who are currently battling cancer and those who are in remission; these programs aim to help children pursue their artistic goals.
