Online Community of Women Bloggers Turns Three

Tucson, AZ, August 25, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Just like wine, women get better with age. Such is the case for Women on the Verge.

Women on the Verge (WOTV), an online community of women that has a solid online presence through their blogs, Twitter, Facebook and YouTube, is happy to celebrate its third birthday this September, at the heels of a partnership with a new national magazine.

THAT Magazine for Women, a bimonthly publication that currently exists online but is slated to be out on stands for the first time in November, has chosen to work with WOTV thanks to the talent of all writers, photographers and designers on http://womenontheverge.net/ Anyone can be a part of the online community by creating a free account.

Both WOTV and THAT Magazine have the same mission of promoting true sisterhood, WOTV through its interactive website and THAT Magazine through its articles. WOTV members blog and tweet about anything of their liking plus about a topic of the month, which starting November, will mirror the theme of the THAT Magazine.

“I feel so very fortunate to have been a part of this community and now part of the magazine, which is allowing us to grow the volume of our voices even louder,” says WOTV founder Ana Lewis, who is also the newly named managing editor of the magazine. “Someday, the mean girl persona will be gone forever, and I give credit to this fabulous group of Women on the Verge as the birth of this revolution to eradicate her and showcase the kind of woman who can communicate, support and compete on her own terms without taking down others.”

To celebrate its birthday, WOTV will be hosting as it has done on previous birthdays, its popular 24-hour Twitter-a-thon. Keeping in line with its mission, WOTV is asking participants –WOTV members and anyone in the public- to tweet their own original words of wisdom about kindness on September 19th. To join the conversation, all tweets must use the hashtag: #kindness.

Additionally, WOTV members will have the chance to appear in the January/February issue of THAT Magazine which will center around the topic of Civility, by answering a question about kindness that will be posted that day on Twitter and Facebook.

Women on the Verge was founded in September 16, 2009 by Ana Lewis in Tucson, Arizona. The online community attracts 1,000,000 hits per month through its blogs and 10,000 followers through social media. Its members span all over the world and include New York Times Bestselling authors.
