Inkwell Productions New Release of Words Falling Like Water by Sonya Vaughn Examines the Decline of the Middle Class
Scottsdale, AZ, August 31, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Inkwell Productions new release of Words Falling Like Water by Sonya Vaughn examines the decline of the middle class. According to a recently released study by the Pew Research Center, “America’s middle class has endured its worst decade in modern history.” The plight of the middle class has been even more dire for automotive workers in states like Michigan who have lost their jobs to downsizing and outsourcing.
This novel examines the life of one woman who is trapped by the forces strangling the middle class. She is struggling to cope with her husband’s chronic unemployment, a plunging standard of living, and the impending bankruptcy of the automotive companies. The novel leaves the reader wondering if the American Dream is no longer attainable for the middle class.
Pew’s survey notes that many of the respondents felt that large corporations shared the blame for the middle class’s woes. In her novel, Vaughn asks these questions, “What can employees do to preserve their middle-class jobs and their communities and how can they change the way corporations treat them?”
Sonya Vaughn’s family worked for the automotive industry for four generations. For over twelve years, she has taught writing at several community colleges. Currently, she lives in Phoenix with her husband, children and dog. Words Falling Like Water is her first published novel.
Words Falling Like Water is available through Amazon as well as the publisher Inkwell Productions, LLC.
