Rocky Top Hospitality to Participate in Raleigh Beer Week Festivities
Rocky Top Hospitality Celebrates Home Town Beer Celebration Beginning Aug. 27.
Raleigh, NC, August 29, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Dean Ogan, owner of Rocky Top Hospitality (http://www.rockytophospitality.com/), has announced that the restaurant group will participate in the second annual Raleigh Beer Week, a week-long celebration of craft beer held in North Carolina’s capital city. Draft Carolina Burgers and Beer will join the celebration on Aug. 27 with Mother Earth Brewing and will “Randallize,” or filter, barrel-aged Tripel Overheard with French oak chips and bourbon-soaked cherries. In addition, Weeping Willow Wit, Dark Cloud Dunkel and Endless River Kolsch will be served.
The Daily Planet Café will host New Belgium’s Science of Beer and Tasting on Thursday, Aug. 30 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Led virtually via Skype by Lauren Salazar of New Belgium Brewing, the event will assess the science behind its brews and will pair four New Belgium beers with four locally-inspired dishes. New Belgium’s Fat Tire Amber Ale will be paired with beer cheese soup, brioche and crouton crème fraiche, while the brewery’s lightly-hopped Shift Pale Lager will be paired with spinach salad, bacon vinaigrette, orange segments and candied almonds. The sweet and flavorful Tart Lychee, created by Salazar herself, will be paired with crispy pork belly, pickled carrots and daikon, and Vietnamese caramel sauce. Additionally, New Belgium’s hoppy Ranger IPA will be paired with goat cheesecake, spiced graham cracker crust and chipotle raspberry syrup. Throughout the event, Salazar will answer guests’ questions via Twitter. Located at 121 West Jones Street, the event will be $20 per person.
On Friday, Aug. 31, Draft Carolina Burgers and Beer will host Great Divide Night. The hammer drops at 9:00 on the cask of Yeti, and drafts of their 2011 Old Ruffian, Wolfgang, and Belgian Style, Espresso Oak Aged, Chocolate Oak Aged and Fresh Oak Yetis will also be served.
