Zombies Invade Downtown Galveston
Galveston, TX, August 29, 2012 --(PR.com)-- The dead are walking at October’s Music Nite on The Strand. Zombiephiles of all ages are encouraged to invade Saengerfest Park from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday, October 13. Flash the Robot DJ and Come See My Dead Person will wake the dead with lively music. In addition to the dance party, the event will feature fire jugglers, zombie makeup artists, and other haunting surprises.
The thrills continue into the night following the free festivities for participants age 21 and older. The Tremont House Toujouse lobby bar will be open to zombies looking to sink their teeth into a special treat. The bar is also offering a unique thirst quenching concoction that plays on the zombie theme.
ZomCom, Inc. makeup artists will be applying realistic zombie makeup and prosthetics during the undead festivities. ZomCom, Inc. co-founder and professional makeup artist Lonnie James has made zombies come to life for more than 20 years. Along with friends Randy Bohn and Mary Ruth Brown, James’ zombie creations escalated three years ago when the company organized the Annual Galveston Island Zombie Crawl.
James recommends a basic understanding of anatomy and a healthy supply of patience for folks wanting to create an authentic zombie look. He especially recommends the use of contact lenses and painted teeth for the finishing touch. “In a pinch, nothing beats blood, blood and more blood! The actors themselves are really what will bring the zombie to life through their movements,” says James.
