Childrenswear Designer Love, Linda Announces New Allergy Awareness Product Line
Oak Park, CA, August 29, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Love, Linda is proud to announce the addition of their new Allergy awareness T-Shirts and Stickers.
Imagine walking into a Kindergarten class all the way back in 2007 and knowing that 1/25 students would suffer from a food allergy. Now imagine a mere 5 years later and the numbers are closer to 1/13. Some 5.9 million children under the age of 18 now have a food allergy such as Dairy, Egg, Peanut, Tree Nuts, Fish, Shellfish, Wheat or Soy.
This is the world that Linda Brown found herself in when she began to do research on why she was having bronchial infections and other related illnesses, that have plagued her for almost 12 years. Frustrated that doctor after doctor could not help her, or identify what the issue was; she turned to an Acupuncture Doctor that had trained in both Eastern and Western medicine. Her suggestion of giving up Dairy and beginning to focus on other types of food allergies led to not only immediate relief and subsidence of Linda’s symptoms, but began a quest for information and desire to help others.
Linda is the founder and Chief Dreamer of Love, Linda a clothing line from Oak Park, CA focusing on shirts that have great art from Children’s Book Illustrators. She has now turned her design experience and personal story into a new found passion. That passion was giving children, especially those too young to advocate for themselves a way to tell others about their allergies. “My hope was that no child or parent would have to fear going to school or a play date and worry that their allergy would turn their day upside down,” said Linda. Out of this came the launch of her new line of Allergy Clothing with “kid friendly” designs and slogans, as well as a line of stickers to adorn their lunch boxes. After spending 15 years in the entertainment industry, first as a Talent Agent, and later as a Casting Director, Linda Brukman Brown wanted to pursue her love of knitting. So she started Love, Linda, and began selling her knits during lunch breaks to stores on trendy Melrose and Montana Avenues in Los Angeles, California.
