UAE Exchange Donates $100,000 to UNICEF This Ramadan for the Cause of Underprivileged Children
UAE Exchange contributes $100,000 to UNICEF during the holy month of Ramadan, in a campaign which involved its operations in the UAE, Oman, Kuwait, Qatar and Bahrain.
Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, August 31, 2012 --(PR.com)-- The campaign for underprivileged children by UAE Exchange and The United Nations Children's Fund - UNICEF, during the holy month of Ramadan, came to an end with the global money transfer donating USD 100,000 for the cause. This is the second time that the remittance major has associated with UNICEF after 2011.
During Ramadan, when customers made a transaction at the branches, UAE Exchange contributed on their behalf to UNICEF, which works for children's rights, their survival, development and protection.
In 2011 the campaign was conducted only in the UAE, the flagship market of the leading global remittance and foreign exchange brand. This year the canvas of the campaign was wider as UAE Exchange involved five countries, in which it has its operations. The contribution was sourced from every remittance transaction sent through the branches of the remittance major in UAE, Oman, Kuwait, Qatar and Bahrain, without levying any extra charge on the customers.
“When we wish for anything good, the entire universe conspires to make it happen. That is exactly what happened this holy month of Ramadan, when we wished to give back to the society, bringing smiles to the underprivileged children. Our little universe of customers came together to make it happen”, said, Mr. Y. Sudhir Kumar Shetty, COO - Global Operations, UAE Exchange. “We constantly look out for opportunities to give back to the society and customers put their faith in our commitment for the cause and supported wholeheartedly. With UNICEF by our side, we also knew that our efforts will bear fruit and bring that smile on those innocent faces.”
Mr. Promoth Manghat, Vice President – Global Operations, UAE Exchange, said, “We have tried to make the underprivileged children’s tomorrow better, today. In line with our CSR vision, we partnered with UNICEF, again, to bring hope to the citizens of tomorrow. Like every initiative of ours, this too found a warm welcome from among our customers, whose support gave us the courage to fulfill it and we are extremely grateful to them. We are happy that we could be instrumental in making some difference to the lives of these children, positively.”
UNICEF, with its strong presence in more than 190 countries and territories, is known for its initiatives to bring good health, education and protection to all underprivileged children across the world.
“UAE Exchange and its customers stood up again”, said Dr. Ibrahim El-Ziq, UNICEF Representative to the Gulf Area Office. “We are thankful to UAE Exchange and every single customer, who transacted for the cause. UNICEF, dedicated to the welfare of underprivileged children, has always thrived on strong partnerships worldwide. UAE Exchange has already proved to be a reliable and credible partner. By widening the scope of the campaign across five countries, it has proved that it’s an organisation with a heart that throbs for the society, especially children”, added Dr. El-Ziq.
UAE Exchange is known to offer bank transfers, instant money transfers, online money transfers, foreign currency exchange, payroll management solution and other payment solutions, across its counters. The company also known for its social commitments, has been instrumental in bringing aid to those affected due to natural disasters and other social issues.
