Bluestar Engineering Plastics Business Unit Opens a New High Performance Epoxy Facility in Nantong

Nantong, China, August 31, 2012 --(PR.com)-- The construction of the 35,000 Ton multi product epoxy resin facility was completed in April this year and since then different production lines were started in phases. The plant will be 100% in use in the beginning of the 4th quarter. “We are very happy and proud to have this new facility,” says Zhuxiaodong, the global sales director. “It can produce 7 different type of thermosetting resins and we will sell more than 30 different grades into the Chinese and overseas markets.” “The plant will give us a much wider reach with our Phoenix brand into various market segments like adhesives, coatings and various composites.”

Next to BPA based liquid resins, the facility will produce solid resins, BPF based resins, acrylic epoxy resins and various types of phenolic resins. “We will also launch several new products that we never had before,” Xiehongliang adds, the epoxy product-manager. “The focus is on developing more sustainable products like water soluble resins and non halogenated flame retardant grades.” “Beyond those new products we will expand our portfolio by carrying different types of curing agents in our portfolio, which will make us a better solution provider and it will enhance our service model for our customers.”

At the same location Bluestar already has a 50,000T epoxy resin facility which is fully operational. Bluestar is committed to the epoxy industry and is already investigating further expansions.
