About William McGuire
Dr. William J. McGuire founded MPS in 1995, and brings over 30 years of industry experience to assessing interest rate risk and enhancing balance sheet performance. He provides strategic direction, product development and management expertise to the firm in addition to consulting services. He also conducts the firm’s advanced regulatory education and has served as an expert witness to the FDIC Goodwill Receivership Unit.
Prior to starting MPS, Dr. McGuire was a Senior Vice President at the Sendero Corporation. At Sendero, he had management responsibility for their service bureau, client support area, and the Sendero Institute, and served on the firm’s senior management team.
Before joining Sendero he was a founder and president of Performance Analysis Inc., a Cincinnati-based provider of IRR and CRA service bureau reports. This company was sold to Fiserv Inc., parent of Sendero, in mid-1992.
Dr. McGuire was a Vice President at the Federal Home Loan Institution of Cincinnati from 1987 to 1992. While at the Bank, he served as a member of senior staff, ran the Bank’s IRR service bureau operations, and planned and participated in numerous educational and training sessions. Dr. McGuire also contributed to several regulatory oriented initiatives. The activities included taking a leadership role in the task force that designed the thrift industry’s path breaking IRR requirement, Thrift Bulletin-13. Prior to joining the Bank, Dr. McGuire taught finance and economics at several universities.
Dr. McGuire is a nationally recognized expert on interest rate risk management. He speaks at numerous financial industry forums and contributes many articles to leading publications and is the author of several books on balance sheet management and IRR analysis.
Dr. McGuire has an undergraduate degree in business administration and a Masters degree in economics from Ohio University, Athens, OH. He holds his Ph.D. in economics from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
