Now Accepting Applicants for AccelNow’s Free ThrottleUp! Boot Camp Event
Johnson City, TN, September 02, 2012 --(PR.com)-- The start-up business accelerator AccelNow will host its ThrottleUp! Boot Camp event starting Wednesday, October 3rd through Wednesday, December 5th, 2012 at the AccelNow Suite, in Borla Commerce Park, 3000 Bill Garland Drive, Johnson City, TN 37604.
ThrottleUp! Boot Camp will provide intensive training, coaching and mentoring for six selected companies who are serious about taking their business ideas and developing them into fundable business models. The Boot Camp will include eight weeks of seminar sessions, business pitch development, pitch coaching and practice, culminating on December 5th, 2012 with Demo Day, when the companies will pitch their business models to a panel of investors and the public for cash prizes.
The event will occur from 1:00pm to 6:00pm every Wednesday between October 3rd and December 5th as Boot Camp Wednesdays. Demo Day, on the final Wednesday, will take place from 6:00pm to 8:00pm.
“The bulk of this event is helping entrepreneurs perfect their pitch to investors” said, Dave Lawrence, Executive Director of AccelNow. “We are looking for very serious entrepreneurs as the we intend to be very selective.”
“Of the programs the accelerator offers, mentoring is by far the most beneficial to entrepreneurs. We have a list of twenty-five highly experience, serial entrepreneurs who will be matched to each one of the six participants in ThrottleUp! Boot Camp,” continued Lawrence.
Cost for ThrottleUp! Boot Camp is free for serious entrepreneurs. Demo Day is open to the press as well as to the public, however, the training is exclusive only to the six entrepreneurs accepted into the program. Application and pre-registration are required by Wednesday, September 19th, 2012. Entrepreneurs within the Northeast Region of Tennessee are encouraged to apply.

AccelNow is an entrepreneurial accelerator consistent of a community of volunteers organized to provide mentoring, training, networking and support to entrepreneurs in Hancock, Hawkins, Greene, Sullivan, Washington, Unicoi, Carter, and Johnson counties of Northeast Tennessee. Their success will be measured by the number and quality of high-impact startup companies they have assisted. AccelNow is a non-profit organization with public and private funding, and one of nine Regional Entrepreneurial Accelerators in the State.
AccelNow provides free and low cost programs and services to entrepreneurs in the eight county Northeast TN region. All entrepreneurs are invited to join the AccelNow community. Entrepreneur assessments are free and confidential. They help all entrepreneurs identify their training needs and match them up with training provided by AccelNow and our academic and training partners.
AccelNow provides entrepreneurial training workshops covering pertinent business topics graduates of which are eligible to apply for accelerator resident status and schedule mentor office hours meetings. Residents receive free office space in the accelerator for up to 3 months, plus intensive mentoring and coaching, and support in connecting with potential investors.
